SEI Grants and Explanations

 Titan Homes Property Maintenance are approved installers of the SEI grant scheme. The grant scheme ranges from installing your attic to upgrading your boiler and heating controls, below Titan Homes have given a full explanation and approx grants available.  Roof Insulation – Grant €250

 Roll out attic and roof insulation will be familiar to most people. In order to meet SEAI standards all water tanks and hatches have to be insulated too. The attic of a standard three bed semi can usually be insulated be in a about a day. The cost, done to SEAI grant standards would cost approx €900. The disruption is minimal apart from a few workers and materials coming in and out of your home. The only you need to do is empty your attic.

 Cavity Wall Insulation – Grant €400

 This entails the injection of insulation materials into the cavity between the two layers of blocks in the wall of your house, unfortunately because hollow block was used to construct many homes in the late 20^th Century, this technique is not suitable. The work takes approx a day and would cost in the region of €1200

 Internal Wall Dry lining – Grant 2,500

 This involves adding a layer to the internal walls of your house; Homeowners who do not want to change the exterior appearance of their properties often opt for dry lining. It would take between a week and two weeks to dry line the walls of a typical 3 bed semi and the approx costs would be in the region of €6,000 to €8,000

 External Wall Insulation – Grant 4,000

 This is like buying a jumper for your house, the insulation is fixed to the external face of your property, this option can be some bit invasive as scaffolding must be erected around your property and there is alot of drilling. The cost of this option can be on average €12,000

 High Efficiency Boiler – Gas or Boiler with heating controls.  – Grant €700

 The servicing and upgrading of your boiler is money well spent and will in the long run save you money. The costs to upgrade your boiler and heating controls can cost on average between €2,500 and €3,000 and would take about 2-3 days to complete.

 Heating Controls Upgrade – Grant €500

 This option zones your heating system allowing you to control your heating upstairs and downstairs and your hot water separately. It can cost in the region of €1500 and would take approx 2 days.
